PostOil Pulling Simple Recipe

Ok, so this one isn’t to eat!

However, this prepping (shared by one of my super Health and Lifestyle Educator peers) takes the hassle out of this super morning ritual. Oil pulling is an ancient Ayurvedic dental technique that involves swishing a tablespoon of oil in your mouth on an empty stomach for around 20 minutes, rinsing with water and brushing teeth with natural toothpaste or just the brush. I use one to 1 drop of peppermint essential oil for taste and greater bacterial benefit.

Oil pulling works by cleaning (detoxifying) the oral cavity in a similar way that soap cleans dirty dishes. It literally sucks the dirt (toxins) out of your mouth and creates a clean, antiseptic oral environment that contributes to the proper flow of dental liquid that is needed to prevent cavities and disease.

This unbelievably effective procedure has been used for centuries as a traditional India remedy to:

  • Cures tooth decay

  • Kills bad breath

  • Heals bleeding gums

  • Prevents heart disease

  • Reduces inflammation

  • Whitens teeth

  • Soothes throat dryness

  • Prevents cavities

  • Heals cracked lips

  • Boosts Immune System

  • Improves acne

  • Strengthens gums and jaw

Says Dr Axe. He doesn’t mention how quiet the house is in the morning when this ritual is adhered to. The kids give up talking at you, when they realise you can’t answer them! Seriously, works a treat xx
